GROUNDED IN PURPOSE..
We are Teenage Life Mission, a Christian NGO, with a God-given commission to mainstream premarital sexual abstinence and mutual fidelity in marriage. We go to churches to sensitize the body of Christ about the level of sexual bondage and their consequences. We educate singles on choosing the right marriage partner and how to handle youthful passions effectively. WHAT WE DO: We have been mentoring and empowering youths since 2002 and we believe that with an unbroken focus we can effectively raise a generation of well rounded, socially well-adjusted and disciplined young adults with high moral standards. We help them to negotiate their sex life not just from a position of strength but holiness. METHODOLOGY When we go to secondary schools we normally get the students comfortably seated under the canopies together with their teachers and principals. Our teachings last for about 30 minutes per topic while the down-to-earth interactions (questions and answers) last for up to one or two hours. Thereafter we ask them questions and give out gifts to reward excellent participation. We also serve refreshments – snacks and drinks – to everyone. At the end of the programme, our team of counselors hold voluntary one on one counseling with the students who need more attention and clarification. This is also done in the open but is usually confidential. The whole event takes place in the open air canopies and we choose topics that directly address teen issues in order to minister directly to their individual challenges. Our scope of teachings covers “dealing with low self-esteem”, “handling attraction for the opposite sex”, “God’s purpose for sex”, “self control and youthful passions”, excellence in relationships”, “maximizing your talents” and a whole lot more. OUR RADIO SHOW The programme, “Life Encounters with Sister Jess”, is produced and presented as an interactive radio show that is youth- focused and family- friendly. Life Encounters deals with moral issues. It enriches and refreshes its audience by providing the missing link in interactive family relationships. It helps people to re-connect to family values and gives them feed backs on emotional issues. Life Encounters with Sis Jess is an interactive platform for youths in all communities through the mass media. We are focused on sensitizing and empowering them with adequate knowledge and skills to enable them adopt pre-marital sexual abstinence as their preferred option for the prevention of sexually-transmitted diseases, the prevention of teenage pregnancies, and the prevention of abortion amongst other life issuespe your paragraph here
